… begins with one step”, said the philosopher Lao Tzu.
I chose this motto for the trek, not only because it’s completely correct, standing for any personal or other project one undertakes. But also because it has a deeper meaning to me: even big social change can begin with small steps in the right direction. For instance: letting (or helping!) every migrant reach dry land before reaching a decision on their right to asylum (instead of extending the borders of Europe outward into the sea and the desert, as in past years); or allowing asylum seekers to travel freely and seek useful employ while they wait (instead of locking them into camps).
